Behind The Scenes on Mayweather v Pacquiao

The madness really kicked off in Vegas on Tuesday as both fighters met their fans at different locations.
Pacquiao held an event at the Mandalay Bay where he is staying for fight week and thousands turned up to
cheer on their man in the conference centre that could have been in the middle of the Philippines.

There was dancers pulling off moves in tradition Filipino style, an elderly duet from two old gents and a stunning serenade from an 11-year-old female compatriot of Pacquiao before the man himself appeared to an ear-deafening roar.

He spoke at length with the media afterwards in more quiet surroundings and spoke about his confidence heading into the biggest fight in boxing.

Down the Strip at the fight hotel, Mayweather arrived at the arena where he will go toe-to-toe with Pacquiao in a van plastered with his ‘Money Team’ logos.

This was certainly a more American-themed event with a beatboxer by the name of Doug E Fresh (yes, that’s right) hosting, a stand-up comedian and some fans dancing for prizes. It really is surreal at times out here.

Mayweather, like Pacquiao, then went into another room to speak to the press and was in a relaxed mood until he realised the clock was ticking for him to squeeze a gym session in before a big NBA play-off game was on TV.

The pair will come face-to-face again today at the press conference as the build-up continues to gather momentum.
