Confirmed: David De Gea Is Man United’s Player Of The Year
Manchester United have announced David De Gea as their Player of the Year, beating off competition from captain Wayne Rooney, Ander Herrera and Ashley Young, per the club’s Twitter account.
De Gea has arguably been the only United player to perform consistently throughout the season and he was the only player from the club to be named in the PFA Team of the Year.
From the first match of the season he has consistently kept his team in the game at crucial times with incredible saves.

Even whilst the team have been performing well they have still had to rely on De Gea and the Spain international can arguably lay claim to being the best keeper in the league.
It is therefore no surprise to see De Gea retain the award he won last season when he became the first keeper ever to win the award.
Of course it is now looking increasingly likely that De Gea will not be around next season to retain the award for a third time, with Sky Sports reporting that he could move to Real Madrid over the summer.
It is still unclear what De Gea’s decision will be and who United will bring in to replace him, should he move.
