Should Gareth Bale Leave Real Madrid?
At the end of a week that began with outspoken comments from his agent and then saw him scapegoated following Real Madrid's Champions League exit, we're asking:
Bale's first campaign in Spain was a successful one, as the Welshman scored the winner in the Champions League and Copa del Rey finals as part of a 22-goal season that also featured 16 assists.
2014-15, by contrast, has not gone so well. Bale has still scored 17 goals and set up 11 others but has been hit by injury issues and also felt the wrath of Madrid's fans on more than one occasion.
Michael Cox argues that Bale's world record transfer fee has created unrealistic expectations for him. Is now the time to move on? Speculation linking him with a Premier League comeback looks set to run all summer. Should he return or should he stick it out and win back the fans at the Bernabeu?
