The Rossoneri are reportedly close to appointing Sinisa Mihajlovic as their new manager and the Serbian has already pinpointed his compatriot as a key transfer target.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Mihajlovic is unconvinced by current left-back Luca Antonelli and believes the experience of Kolarov will help Milan secure Champions League football next season.
Kolarov joined City in 2010 and is a fans' favourite at the Etihad but enjoyed a difficult 2014/15 campaign, making just 17 starts in the Premier League.
