Man Utd sources: David de Gea Won’t Be Sold On The Cheap

The transfer saga surrounding David de Gea’s future continues to rumble on with Manchester United sources claiming Real Madrid will not get the keeper “on the cheap”, according the Daily Star.

The Spanish stopper has been continuously linked with a move to the Bernabeu, with the aforementioned source reporting that Real are ready to submit an opening bid of £20 million.
However, it is reported by the Star that United will reject this offer and demand that the Spanish giants up their bid to the region of £30m instead.
A United source told the Star: “The club is bracing itself for a bid from Real Madrid, but there is no chance David De Gea will be sold for £20m.
“If Real want him as badly as is being suggested then they will have to pay the going rate for someone who is now one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
“He won’t be sold on the cheap, that’s for sure.”
Despite the fact that De Gea is entering the final year of his contract, United are confident they can extract a big fee out of Real, and will hold out for their desired price, as per the Star.
The 2014/15 Premier League season was another brilliant one for De Gea, with the Spaniard once again proving he is one of the top keepers in the world.
The 24-year-old kept 11 clean sheets in 37 league games for the Red Devils last season, earning himself a place on the PFA Team of the Year.
De Gea would be a massive loss for Louis van Gaal’s side, and would be a major blow for the Dutchman as he tries to build a side capable of challenging for the title once again.
