Reports: Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel In Talks With Fenerbahce

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is in talks with Turkish side Fenerbahce regarding a potential move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, according to the Metro.

The Nigeria international is one of the Blues’ longest serving players, having been at the club since 2006, but competition for places in the squad is higher than ever and the 28-year-old currently finds himself quite a way down the pecking order at West London club.
The Daily Express, via the Metro article, reports that Fenerbahce’s sporting director Giuliano Terraneo is in the capital talking to the player’s agents about a potential move the Turkish Super Lig.
A switch to Turkey could also potentially open up space in the Blues squad and allow them to sign another central midfielder, with the aforementioned source reporting that Juventus’s Paul Pogba, Wolfsburg’s Luis Gustavo and Barcelona’s Alex Song have all been mooted with a move this summer.
