Vidal Tells Cop: ‘You can cuff me, But You’ll Screw Chile’
Arturo Vidal has had an awful start to the week.
Two days after he scored a brace to give Chile a pivotal 3-3 draw against Mexico in the Copa America, the 28-year-old midfielder crashed his Ferrari outside Santiago, Chile in a drunk driving accident.
Now video has surfaced of Vidal apparently telling officers they could handcuff him, but that they’d be screwing over the host country in more profane fashion.
Take a listen at the 1:50 mark:
After spending the night in jail, Vidal was allowed to return to his national team and was told that he could still play for the Chileans by his coach Jorge Sampaoli.
This isn’t the first time Vidal has had a little too much fun in his off time.
Vidal and four other players were banned for 20 games by former Chile manager Claudio Borghi after they showed up to training in “an inappropriate state.” The ban was later reduced to 10 games.
