Yaya Toure Celebrates 32nd Birthday By Landing £720k Manchester City Bonus

Yaya Toure is set to have a wonderful 32nd birthday at Manchester City, since he's just pocketed a massive £720,000 for helping the former Premier League champions qualify for the Champions League.

According to Mail Online, the Ivorian will forget all about last year's "cake-gate" incident with the big wad of cash that's coming his way this time around. Toure has a clause in his contract that was triggered at the weekend, when City beat QPR 6-0 to seal their Champions League qualification.

Let's hope he realises you can buy thousands of cakes with that kind of money.

The former Barcelona man nets a staggering £220,000-a-week and has a host of clauses in his deal - which includes another £357,000 if City ever win the Champions League, according to the report.

Despite the money he's pocketing, Toure is expected to leave Manchester City this summer in search of a new challenge. His agent recently commented that he was "90 per cent certain that the player would walk away from City, with Inter Milan currently in pole position to sign him for around £10m.
However, while he seems set on leaving, club mate and international team mate Wilfried Bony has urged Toure to stay put, according to ESPN.

"We hope he stays, he's a big player here and we know everything he is doing for the club. Look at everything he has done over the years, what an important player he has been.

"You can see his qualities, I don't need to tell you about it. He knows what he can do, everybody knows. For sure everyone wants to keep him here. He's a legend for this club for sure, he always will be.

"He brought me here so he needs to stay. He told me this is a big club, how we were the champions. He told me it was a club that always fights and I am always a fighter so I liked that. He told me about the pressure, everything."
